Don’t forget – Almost any structurally sound concrete floor whether new or old, can be polished. But there are some exceptions.

For new floors, no special mix using oxides or different aggregate is required to achieve good results. However, the floor should be in place at least 28 days before polishing begins to ensure adequate curing of the slab.

MPA – We also recommend that if pouring a new slab the concrete be specified at 30 mpa to achieve a superior polished concrete floor.

The process of polishing concrete is a multi-step process where a concrete floor is mechanically ground.

This is done with a mix of metal & resin bonded diamonds to cut a concrete surface.

It is refined with each cut in order to achieve a specified level of appearance and shine.
